A small town.
A generous spirit.
Our name comes from a place known for making people feel welcome. Gander’s story reminds us how much it matters to be met with kindness, especially when you’re far from home.

A crossroads, long before the story travelled.
Gander’s history is closely tied to aviation. Its airport became an important stop on transatlantic journeys, connecting Newfoundland with people and places far beyond its shores.
That international outlook is part of what makes the town distinctive: a close-knit community with a long history of welcoming people passing through.
Care in an extraordinary moment.
After the attacks of September 11, 2001, diverted flights brought thousands of passengers and crew to Gander. Residents of Gander and neighbouring communities helped provide food, shelter and reassurance during days of profound uncertainty.
Their response became known around the world and later inspired the musical Come From Away. It remains a story of human care, held alongside remembrance for those who lost their lives and everyone affected by that day.

The spirit behind our name.
Gander Tax & Accounting is proud to carry the name of our home community. What resonates with us is the everyday principle behind its welcome: take time to understand people, offer practical help, and treat them with care.
Those are the values we aim to bring to our own work with individuals, families and small businesses across Canada.
This is a tribute to our community. Gander Tax & Accounting is not affiliated with the Town of Gander or the production of Come From Away.
